How to Make an Effective Face Masks at Home: A Beauty Hack

Face masks are skin treatments that work to get your skin healthier by delivering a concentrated ingredient to the surface of the skin. A facial mask is a creamy or thick pasted mask applied on the face either for cleansing or skin-smoothing purposes. Different types and brands of faces serve different purposes. Different brands produce these face masks, and the best part is they can be made at home with just a few steps. These masks are all made differently, and all have different purposes or are made to fulfill different purposes. Some of these are:

1. Aloe Vera Face Masks:

Aloe vera gel is something more than a remedy for sunburn. It possesses anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that help improve skin texture. This homemade face mask made with aloe vera helps with some common skin problems, including acne, sunburn, eczema, and psoriasis. It is used for obtaining glowing skin.

  • Milk cream – two tablespoons

  • Combine besan, milk cream, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  • Add water as needed to achieve a smooth paste consistency.
  • Spread the mixture evenly over your face and neck.
  • Allow the mask to dry for 15-20 minutes. Once set, rinse off with cool water.

3. Turmeric Face Masks:

Turmeric is a colorful spice, but much more than just that; turmeric contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich properties. Apply the natural glow to the skin by using this turmeric-based DIY homemade face mask recipe, and get back that brightness, cure acne, eliminate psoriasis, and support wound healing.

Ingredients Required

  • Turmeric powder – half a teaspoon
  • Baking powder – one teaspoon
  • Rose water – one to two teaspoons

   Directions

  • Mix turmeric powder with baking powder in a bowl.
  • Gradually add the rose water, stirring without stopping until a smooth paste is achieved.
  • Apply the blend to your face and leave it on for 5 minutes.

4. Cucumber Face Masks:

5. Honey – Matcha Tea Face Masks:

7. Oats And Honey Face Masks:

There are three benefits of oats. One – oats are super nourishing and moisturizing; their sugars, starches, and oils act as great humectants. Two – oats are super absorbent; they absorb all the excess oil on the skin. Three – oats comprise Avenanthramides 

Honey and avocado, as we already discussed, are healing, antibacterial, and full of good fats.

  • Oats – a handful
  • Avocado – half
  • Honey – one tablespoon

Directions

  • Mash the avocado.
  • Mix all the ingredients mentioned above to make a paste.
  • Apply the paste to your face using your fingers.
  • Leave the mask for about 15 minutes or until it dries before rinsing off with warm water and a washcloth.

8. Lemon and Yogurt Face Mask:

Yogurt is a skin-improving miracle. Consistent application of a yogurt-based face mask made at home will have several added advantages; it moisturizes, fights acne, heals sunburns, improves skin discoloration, and keeps at bay the early signs of wrinkles.

  • Sour yogurt – half cup

9. Tomato And Curd Face Mask:

  • Tomato – one

  • Lemon juice – a few drops

  • Blend Tomato and add with the other ingredients.

10. Chocolate Face Mask:

Dark Chocolate is a rich source of antioxidants that help the skin fight free radicals. Besides, Chocolate contains moisturizing properties that make skin soft and glowing.

  • Cocoa powder – half a cup
  • Oats – three tablespoons
  • Fresh cream – four tablespoons
  • Honey -a quarter cup

Directions

  • Blend all the above ingredients to form a smooth paste.
  • Apply the mask to the face and neck, letting it rest for about 10 minutes or until dry. Rinse clean with cold water and pat the skin dry.

11. Papaya Face Mask:

Papaya, being rich in enzymes, exfoliates the skin and may help reduce dark spots while honey acts as a natural moisturizer for the skin and also carries anti-bacterial properties. This homemade DIY face mask will give a nice glow to your skin and keep it hydrated.

Ingredients Needed

  • A small piece of papaya
  • 1 tsp of  honey

Directions

  • Crush the papaya until it gets converted into a smooth paste.
  • Combine everything well with the honey.
  • Evenly apply this mask all over your face.
  • Now let it dry for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Shake and clean up with warm water.

12. Coffee Face Mask:

Coffee can help in the constriction of blood vessels, which gives a temporarily tightened effect to puffy under eyes. Facial masks, help exfoliate, reduce inflammation, and brighten the skin.

Ingredients Needed

  • 1/2 tablespoon of coffee grounds
  • 1 tsp of honey

Directions

  • Mix the coffee and honey until it’s a paste-like mixture.
  • Evenly apply this mask to your eyes.
  •  Let it dry for about 10 minutes.
